Pot plants are now on sale at PetSavers, including a full line of pot plants.
The pet store chain said it has received an overwhelming response to its announcement.
The full line includes all of the pot plants and pots that PetSmart stores stock, as well as potting soil, fertilizer, and other supplies for pet plants.
PetSmart said the offer is good for all pet owners, and is available online now.
PetSaver’s announcement comes on the heels of a similar deal announced in March by PetSmart’s parent company, Target Corp., and the National Pet Products Association, the trade group for pet growers.
Both companies said they are excited to see the growing number of pet pot owners taking advantage of PetSaving’s discounted pet plants and accessories.
The PetSafes online pet plant and soil supply is available now, but PetSaves new offer is only available through July.
The sale of pet plants to the public comes as pet owners have grown increasingly frustrated with the federal government’s decision to end the prohibition on selling marijuana to anyone under 21.
A recent Gallup poll found that more than two-thirds of Americans favor legalizing marijuana.
Some lawmakers in both parties have also criticized the federal policy, saying it unfairly penalizes those who choose to use pot as an alternative to cigarettes.
The federal government also has long argued that pot can help with addiction.
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) last year issued a final guidance to its marijuana task force that says there are no long-term health risks associated with pot use and that there is no evidence that marijuana use is harmful to people.
