It has been a busy week for Serie A’s top clubs as the transfer window comes to a close and it is worth reflecting on who is likely to go where this summer.
The likes of Andrea Pirlo, Paulo Dybala, Mario Balotelli and Diego Forlan could all be on the move this summer and it has been speculated that the Italy international could be sold to a Premier League rival.
However, while there are plenty of transfer rumours surrounding the players currently in Italy, there are also some interesting rumours surrounding one player that is likely be sold in the coming weeks.
The news that Andrea Pigno, the player with the number 10 shirt, could be selling his shirt comes as no surprise and it comes as little surprise that the Italian club is keen to sell him.
The news comes from a report in Corriere dello Sport, which claims that the former Juventus midfielder could be on his way to Sunderland and has agreed to a move to the Black Cats.
While Pignio has been linked with a move back to the club for some time, it was only last month that the deal was officially announced.
Pigni had been one of the stars of the club in recent years and was widely tipped to be a future signing when he joined from Milan in 2015.
He scored 22 goals in just 43 appearances for the Rossoneri and he has made two Champions League appearances for his country.
However it appears that Sunderland will be a more logical destination for the player who has scored 20 goals in 38 appearances in Serie A. The move is expected to be for around £5 million, and it seems that Sunderland are not the only club that could be interested in the player.
A move to Sunderland could be a major coup for Pignoli, as the Black Cat would not only be able to make the player their first signing of the new Premier League season, but also have a big money target in his sights.
Pirli has scored 18 goals in 46 league appearances for Juventus, and has scored 10 goals in 23 Serie A appearances so far this season.
The player is not a regular for the team, and is often linked with Real Madrid, but he has scored over 200 goals for the club.
He has also scored 25 goals in 75 appearances for Italy.
He could be worth a lot to Sunderland in the long-term as the striker has shown that he can score goals at a premium level.
The deal could be done for a relatively small fee and the transfer would make Pignol a major transfer target.
A player who scored a goal in each of the last two Serie A seasons could become a player that Sunderland could target and sell to any of the big clubs.
Pignoli’s future at the club is not as clear as it was last year, as he scored one goal in 12 Serie A matches and had another goal disallowed for a foul on Diego Milito.
However he was only ever signed for £4.5 million from Juventus and is still on the books at the Italian giants.
He is one of their most consistent players and he is highly likely to get his wish of playing for the Black Cap in the Premier League next season.
